History
Jamison Station derives its name from the Jamison Bedding Company, the last
tenant of The Factory at Franklin, a circa of 1929 complex originally built for Allen
Manufacturing Company and once the home of Dortch Stove Works and Magic
Chef. Renovated by Franklin businessman Calvin Lehew in the late 1990’s, the
site’s 11 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now
it houses shops, galleries, restaurants, and entertainment. The architecture of
Jamison Station aims to preserve The Factory’s industrial feel while reflecting the
historic character of downtown Franklin. |
